I find the focus a bit soft. When shooting wide open the plane of focus is minimal!

How to improve your photo
1.
Be sure to focus on the eye, this is of particular importance when shooting wide ie f2.8. If you can see both eyes focus on the closest eye.
2.
The colors seem a bit flat, try increasing the vibrancy in post.
3.
Using a minimum shutter speed of 1/250 f a second when photographing birds.
