Bringing in another calf
by: © David Siebers
For all the reasons stated above and for the previous photo in this series.
As per the other photo. However in this one we don't know what's going on (why is the calf being dragged, why are the people running) and that's creating some tension in the photo. If we only had this photo however it wouldn't be as interesting. Both photos are working together.
You are in the right spot for this photo. Something is happening and about to change quickly. The camera is tiled a bit, the horizon line is slanted. Something we all have to watch for. Good work w/o a tripod.
Use of camera,
Good. The little bit of blurring dust kicked up by the calf adds interest. Capturing the boy in red at the moment of his action also adds interest.
Good. In this case the wide angle large DOF is working for this photo.
Good. Think about using a speedlight too.

How to improve your photo
You have waited for the moment but is this the best moment? You're in the right position but have you really worked the scene?
Work on remembering to check the horizon line, when they're off they can be distracting.
Although you can't control the sun, adding a speedlight can make any photo more dramatic.
