Hi David, This is a good image and the enhancements in this case I am sorry to say did not help. You seem to have a good eye and I would suggest that you keep on shooting with your heart.
The subject of children is always a good choice but in this image she does not stand out.
The composition is good but could be much better if you were at an angle that showed her at an angle that shows her face instead of the back of her head.
Use of camera,
Again, you seem to know how to use your camera.
I do not know if it is me but the point of focus seems to be those few stems just in front of the subject and the subject itself seems to be a little soft because of the depth of field.
I am sorry but the lighting seems to be very flat on this image and the spot coloring takes away from the image because the red takes your eye right away from the subject of the girl. Had this been done in a warm tone color at dusk which is great light to begin wirh, I feel the image would have much more pop.
Tried to capture a shot my step daughter as she was fascinated by the poppies and isolate the red and blues in the shot.

How to improve your photo
Do not be so teased withthe photoshop functions to try and enhance an image. I have always believed that it is more important to capture the image in the camera then to try and create a better image in the computer.
Change your angle somewaht so that the subject is comingtowrd you and the face is more visible.
Remember that when you are doing a spot color type of image as here, Red is a color that the eye is drawn to right away as is the hottest spot in an image if it was a white tone. Eyes are drawn to warm colors before thay are drawn to cool colors such as blue.
